Use a laptop for a lightweight portable system or a desktop for installations, rackmount if need be; it’s up to you. Hog 3 PC is the ideal backup solution, and perfect for automated playback in retail and architectural applications.

Hog iPC

HOG iPC is a small, mid-range controller which offers maximum flexibility for programmers. It is designed to use the Wholehog 3 operating system - so you get the most advanced features and functionality – but it’s also backwards compatible with the discontinued but widely-used Wholehog 2 operating system. Hog iPC uses four universes of DMX output direct from the console, expandable to eight universes using USB DMX Widgets or USB DMX Super Widget. Two 12-inch high-brightness color touchscreens offer adjustable viewing angle. A backlit trackball with four configurable buttons provide cursor and position control. Ten Playback faders feature the familiar Wholehog III playback controls (choose, go, pause & flash). Hog iPC offers an internal hard disk drive, and re-writeable CD-ROM drive; Five Universal Serial Bus ports for touch screens, external drives, printer, and Wholehog III accessories (e.g. playback wing, expansion wing, and additional USB DMX Widgets). Ethernet connector allows communications with Hog 3 PC computers, Hog iPC, and Wholehog III console systems. Remote Focus functionality is available when networked with a computer running Hog 3 PC software. Hog iPC is constructed of precision-machined aluminum in a familiar Hog blue style with a tough wear-resistant anodized finish.

Whole Hog III Console

The Wholehog III Console is very similar in layout and syntax to the Wholehog II, but with significant improvements to the operating system, and sophisticated new features. Gracing the control surfaces of the Wholehog III are two bright, full color TFT touchscreens that tilt up for enhanced visibility, four encoder knobs, two encoder wheels, 10 playback faders with familiar Wholehog II playback controls, a built in illuminated trackball, and hard toolbar buttons above both TFT screens. To connect to the outside world, the console provides two monitor outputs, keyboard and mouse ports, MIDI input and output ports, two USB ports, Fast Ethernet on a rugged Neutrik Ethercon connector, and stereo speakers with a stereo audio output. Show storage is handled by a built in shock mounted hard disk, with a re-writeable CD-ROM drive and Zip disk drive neatly tucked away under the armrest.

DP 2000 DMX Processor

The Wholehog III DP 2000 DMX processor provides the output power for the Wholehog III console and/or Wholehog III PC console. The Wholehog III system doesn't limit you to a fixed number of DMX channels - just add as many DP2000 DMX processors as needed (along with a fast Ethernet switch) to supply the specified number of DMX universes for the production or installation.

MIDI/ Timecode Processor

The Wholehog III MIDI / Timecode Processor provides the flexibility to interface a Wholehog III system to external MIDI, LTC and VITC sources for synchronised show playback. A serial port allows for transport control of timecode sources such as tape decks. Naturally, the processor connects with the rest of the Wholehog III system using Fast Ethernet, and so can be situated remotely from the console, simplifying the connections to time code sources.

Hog III PC USB DMX Widget

Packaged in a sleek, blue anodized oval package, the Wholehog III DMX Widget provides a single universe of DMX 512 output from any USB enabled Windows PC, or a Wholehog III console. When used in conjuction with Wholehog II PC software (supplied), up to four DMX Widgets may be connected at once via a USB Hub to provide 4 full universes of DMX 512. In addition, the DMX Widget can also be connected to the Wholehog III console for a single universe of DMX 512 output directly from the desk.
